The Super Saver Difference... YES, there is a difference!
Come look at the meat display cases at the Winsted Super Saver and compare them to our “chain store” competition. You will actually be able to SEE the difference in the quality of the product. One reason for this is that our beef is supplied by Western Purveyors (mostly from Iowa), and our chickens are shipped form Windsor Locks Connecticut (VIA Virginia) arriving FRESH everyday packed in ice. Seafood, pork and other meats are also purchased from local companies doing business right here in Connecticut.
Another reason for our superior quality and freshness is that our meats are processed right here at the Winsted Super Saver. Most of the so-called “chain stores” buy pre-packaged or water added products that are cut, processed and shipped to the store from locations outside of the local area. At Winsted Super Saver, we still grind all of our hamburger and sausage products right here on premise. Even our hamburger patties are made right here in our store. Most chain stores use a “pre grind” hamburger that is put into plastic tubes and shipped to the stores for packaging. So when you look at our meat case, you can actually see the difference in freshness and quality.
